In the great Indian epic Mahabharata, Drona or Dronacharya is the royal guru to the Kauravas and the Pandavas. He was a master of advanced military arts, including the devastras. He spent his youth in poverty, but studied religion and military arts.
Dronacharya's legend as a great teacher and warrior exceeds Hindu mythology by strongly influencing Indian social traditions. He has incredible skills and vast knowledge which were imparted to his disciples.
His coaching to his disciples is being interpreted as mentoring and training in the modern era. The Government of India confers the Dronacharya Award each year to the best sports trainer or coach in India. With this inspiration Drona Consultancy was established in the year 1994 to meet the training needs of Industries, Institutions, Individuals and Government Departments.
